The Sissy-Eared Mollycoddles were formed as an experimental Art Music trio in Chicago, 2007. In 2008, SEMC held its first Young Composer's Competition, and performed works by winners Otto Muller and Ryan Brown. Since the group's formation, the Mollycoddles' have sought to perform only new music by living composers, and have given 30 works their world premiere. On December 13th 2009, the group will unveil premiere works that exemplify their new direction. In early 2009, the group shifted its focus toward music “in the gap” between Pop/Rock and Art Music and expanded its instrumentation to include more performers.
